Man talking to a group of people

Simply put, strategic planning determines where an organization is going over the next year or more and how it’s going to get there. Typically, the process is organization-wide, or focused on a major function such as a division or department. Organizations do a strategic plan for a variety of reasons ranging from helping to focus the board to defining fiscal policies.

Strategic Planning During the Pandemic

Our firm offers a completely “virtual” planning process which leverages the functionality of multiple communication and engagement platforms (Zoom, SurveyMonkey, etc.). We have successfully adapted the steps in planning to accommodate the need for social distancing and still engaging key stakeholders in the process. This approach can also be applied to organizations that have multiple locations and/or key stakeholders (staff, board members, partners) spread out over a large geographic area.

Our Approach

Advantage Consulting’s approach to strategic planning is to ensure the process is relevant to its mission and achievable by its stakeholders. One unique aspect of our approach is a cultural assessment. Focusing on culture is important,  any changes affect the entire organization.

We assist the client organization to identify its key questions for planning a way forward and assist them in collecting the data necessary to answer those questions. Finally, we assist our clients to chart out a detailed action plan and timeline for implementing the proposed plans.
